When we say Slovenia, the image in our eyes becomes green, thinking about pure natural beauty of this country. This former Yugoslav Republic is located between Alps and Adriatic Sea and it is top growing tourism destination in the last decade.
ABOUT FOLKLORE FESTIVAL IN BLED
We introduced Slovenia as destination in our program in 2015 and for our international folklore festival we chose Bled Lake. Bled is, without doubt, the most popular sight of Slovenia with its picturesque Alpine landscape with island, church and castle. It is surrounded by luxury hotels and villas.
International folklore festival in Bled is held each summer in theatre on the banks of the Bled lake. Before performances we organize parade of all participants through the walking zone beside the lake. This experience creates unique memories for all folklore groups. From the first edition this event has attracted huge interest in the world of folklore and it is still among the top three most requested folklore festivals in our program. Because of limited capacity for accommodation, this festival is usually fully booked already in February every year and we always recommend early booking for this festival.
ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
We use different hotels for accommodation of our groups and these hotels are usually small family hotels. In each hotel we can accommodated not more than two groups together. Hotels are typical Slovenian style set in recognizable natural ambience and you will feel real Slovenian spirit during your stay. Hotels are located in area between Ljubljana and Bled. Meals are rich, mix of Slovenian and international cuisine. It is usually provided on buffet system. In dependence on hotels, dinner can be served in three course as well. The basic package of folklore festival in Bled includes breakfast and dinner.
At lunch time, the groups are usually out, visiting different itineraries, so a packed lunch could be added on request. On the day of the festival the groups have lunch in the hotel instead of the dinner (as during the dinner time festival is ongoing).
HOW TO ARRIVE AND MOVE DURING THE FESTIVAL
The major part of the groups come to Slovenia by bus. It is the best way as for this festival it is necessary that you have your own vehicle. If you plan to reach Slovenia by plane, we recommend to rent a bus or minibus for your group (we could also help sending you the best option and quote).
The reason for that is that you have to move constantly, if you are planning to visit the most important tourist attractions. It is a little bit different situation in respect to the big cities where you can use public transport and get anywhere. In Slovenia all these places are not well connected. They are isolated, so you need to organize transfer and make a plan of visits in advance. A guide is not required. Once you get on the place you make tour easily. You need a vehicle to get the place of the festival as well.
WHAT TO SEE IN SLOVENIA
Being the capital of this country, Ljubljana is the great starting point to fall in love with Slovenia. The oldest wheel in the world was discovered there. If you prefer nature, numerous resorts with natural healing waters, sunny hills, vineyards are the things you should not miss there. There are also many caves which are among the most visited in Europe. We suggest you visit: Postojna cave, Ljubljana, Vintgar Gorge, Savica waterfall, Bled Lake, Bohinj Lake.
In case you didn’t know, Slovenia is home to famous white Lipizzaner horses, it has its own wines and olives. If you love hiking, you are definitely on the right place.
